K.C. Evans is a sign artist by trade and vocation. He has been designing logos and signs since 1976 when he took a two-dollar-an-hour sign apprentice job the Chicago suburb of Lisle. His aptitude for this work was so great that the shop owner left him running the business after six months.

In Illinois, K.C. operated a one-man commercial sign shop in Plano and Yorkville from 1978 until 1993 when he moved his family to Colorado.

The romance of the Old West captivated him, and he began to incorporate that spirit into his sign work.

Books and western movies are sources of K.C.’s inspiration. He seeks to develop useful pieces that are works of art as well as being functional. He paints silhouettes of familiar scenes around his home in south central Colorado. The Sangre de Cristo Mountains are the back drop for his art and his life.
